Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

GROVELANDS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Grovelands Primary School

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) helps us build a safe, positive and inclusive school environment where students can thrive. It provides a consistent whole-school approach to teaching, modelling and reinforcing positive behaviour, with additional support for students who need it.

PBS recognises that students’ experiences, backgrounds and individual needs influence their behaviour. It focuses on preventing difficulties, explicitly teaching expected behaviours and helping students restore relationships when things go wrong. Engaging classrooms and strong relationships are central to this approach.

At Grovelands Primary School, our PBS journey began in 2025, with our school team established in 2026. The team includes Mrs Higgins, Mrs Randall, Miss Mackenzie, Mr Hobley and Mrs Norton.

Our team is currently developing shared behaviour expectations around our four focus areas: Pride, Respect, Learning and Safety. These will provide a common language and clear expectations across classrooms, playgrounds and all other school settings

Presently the PBS team is focussing on finalising our school specific behaviour foci then we will create our school wide behaviour expectations that are to be implemented in all settings across the school.
