Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
Grovelands Primary School
At Grovelands Primary School, we recognise the reconciliation begins with truth, understanding and respect. We acknowledge the past, continue to learn in the present and commit to taking meaningful action for the future.
In partnership with our local community, we will:
- Deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and perspectives.
- Respectfully embed these perspectives in our school planning, policies and teaching.
- Provide a culturally responsive learning environment that recognises students’ strengths and supports equitable opportunities and outcomes.
- Build authentic connections and respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community members.
- Create a welcoming environment that acknowledges the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which our school stands.
- Empower our school community to contribute to reconciliation within and beyond our school.
Together we will strive to create a unified school community.
Our active Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) committee, led by our Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO), supports and guides this work.
